Evaluations
There are three evaluations that Scouts need to know about. Two of them are official. These are mid-week (Tuesday) and final (Saturday) evaluations given by the Scout Coordinator. The final evaluation is used to determine which troops will be invited to serve on the Island the following summer. A sample of this evaluation is included later in this chapter. The other evaluation is for troop use. Each Scout is asked to fill one out on Saturday morning, so as you think of comments or suggestions during the week, remember them and write them on your paper. On Saturday morning you are also asked to vote for Scouts that you respect and would be willing to work with next year in a position of leadership.
Recognition
Eight interest patches have been designed by troops which have served at the Scout Service Program. They are listed in the Badges page along with their requirements. If you are interested in earning any of these badges, write down everything you do for each requirement and submit the page to the Program Advisor.
Every Scout who serves for the week will also receive a Mackinac Island Service Program pin with a ribbon attached signifying how many years she has served on the Island, as follows: 1st year~no ribbon; 2nd year~light blue; 3rd year~green; 4th year~yellow; 5th year~white; and 6th year~red.
