HISTORY
The Avenue of Flags is the rear entrance to Fort Mackinac. All of the flags on the Avenue represent a country or governing body that at some time in history owned or controlled Mackinac Island.
Position: Stand within the fort near the fort wall and trash bins.
If Raining: move inside the second-floor exhibit of the Soldiers' Barracks near entrance.
INSTRUCTIONS
Bathrooms: Downstairs, left across porch, left again. They’re on left behind Soldiers’ Barracks.
Water Fountain: Downstairs, across Parade Ground near top of the steps at main entrance and in the bathrooms.
State Park Office: Across bridge next to stairs, through door (on right).

INSTRUCTIONS
- Introduce yourself to the cashier. You might be asked to go to the State Park Office for change.
- Greet guests and welcome them to Fort Mackinac. Offer to take their photo. Many guests entering through Avenue arrive on the Carriage Tours. Guests who arrived on a carriage tour to the Fort can get back on the carriage tour after they finish seeing the fort.
- Know the times for rifle firings, cannon firings and guided tours.
- If no demonstrations are taking place encourage guests to begin their tour by viewing the video presentation in the Soldiers' Barracks.
- Inform guests with wheelchairs or strollers about the elevator located within the Soldiers' Barracks.
- Assist Guest Service Representatives by retrieving wheelchairs for guests that request additional help.
- You must know where things in the fort are!
- Make needed change runs for GSR.
- Know how to direct guests to the Upper Gun Platform, Parade Ground, Tea Room, Fort Mackinac Museum Store, restrooms and multiple exits.
- Keep area tidy.
